Adult cover 'One Hundred Years of Solitude'

How others have designed the cover for 'One Hundred Years of Solitude' by Gabriel García Márquez I think it is interesting to see what different approaches designers have taken for this novel.
All these designs have kept a strong Spanish tone, the bold shapes and vivid reds with contrasting greens enhance this. There is a key setting of a jungle scene with in the novel, it appears all these covers have picked up on this and included it into their design.

This last image demonstrates my favorite cover design for 'one hundred years of solitude' the photograph sets the scene well, clearly Spanish with a dark atmosphere. The use of type layered over the image is enough to grab a potential readers attention as the authors name commonly known among the target audience.
I could consider photography as an approach to illustrating the front cover.
